Week #1 - MTC

Week #1 - MTC
HI ALL!!
Wow I made it to P-day. The saying is true, the days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days. This has been the craziest, most spiritual, most draining week ever. I seriously can't believe I am a missionary. I feel like I've been here for 18 whole months already hahaha. But I know that before I blink I will be on my way to Charlotte. The MTC is so stressful because it is totally packed full ALLLL day long and when you hit your pillow you feel like you close your eyes and it's already 6:30 time for a new day.
Thank you to everyone for all the love and support. I have been having a hard time adjusting and I can definitely feel your prayers here! The spirit is so strong and even in these 6 days I have learned so much about the gospel.
My companion is Sister Vincent and she is the BEST !! She is from Colorado and she is going to my same mission. In fact, all the sisters in my district are going to Charlotte! We have gotten super close and I have already made some really close friends here. All of the Elders are going to Oklahoma, but as a district we are all like BFFs. Our first week we were in the old building but just yesterday we got moved to the NEW BUILDING. PEOPLE THEY ARE AMAZING. The spirit is so strong in the new buildings and I wish that everyone could just go see them.
Some spiritual highlights:
I love the fact that the main thing they teach you here is what your purpose is. I also love that it can apply to all of you not serving missions, but just in life ! Our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ and there are so many ways we can do that. God sees potential in everyone and He loves everyone so much! I have also learned that I can do hard things. After the first night I was OVER IT. But hey look here I am, still here. I have a long way to go but I know that Christ can help me in everything I do. This is a time of growth and growth is so uncomfortable so it kind of stinks. My favorite quote that I've heard this week is "when you focus on yourself, you are going to lose yourself, but when you focus on others, that is when you find yourself" your goal can't be about yourself or you don't understand your purpose. When we turn outwards and focus on others, the blessings are FAR GREATER than when we focus on ourselves. I know, way easier said than done. Just think of Christ and His life, He was so selfless and that is what we should aim to be.

I love you all!! our teacher served her mission in Russia and she taught us "Fsyo Horosho" which is "all is well" !! Choose the right and I know this church is true!!

Love
Sister Nilsen

also PS I can look at emails and letters all week long so i would love to hear from any of you!! an email can make a bad day just a little better!! :)))
